After all, every major doctrine of the Christian faith finds its origin and explanation ultimately in these chapters. Furthermore, the entire ethical foundation of Christian society is predicated on a literal understanding of Genesis, from the doctrine of marriage to the mandate for clothing.
In this course we will explain the contribution of Genesis to Christian theology by looking at the book in its historical contexts. More specifically we will aim to have students develop a biblical world and life view; to become skillful in narrative theology; and to interpret the book of Genesis within the canon of Scripture.
